Subject: 21438/JtContract/TDOT-HamCo/Grant/BatteryPlacePhaseII-TNRiverpark Date: Fri, 21 Sep 1990 13:00:00 -0500 RESOLUTION NO. 21438 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE A JOINT CONTRACT WITH THE TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION AND HAMILTON COUNTY FOR A FIVE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY THOUSAND DOLLAR ($580,000.00) ISTEA GRANT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE BATTERY PLACE PHASE II SEGMENT OF THE TENNESSEE RIVERPARK. WHEREAS, a Federal ISTEA grant in the amount of $580,000 has been awarded to Hamilton County and the City of Chattanooga by the Tennessee Department of Transportation for the construction of the Battery Place Phase II segment of the Riverpark; and WHEREAS, the completion of this project will link existing segments of the Riverpark and allow one to walk from Ross's Landing Downtown to the Sandbar Restaurant upriver on a continuous trail; and WHEREAS, the highly successful Tennessee Riverpark is a valuable recreation resource and exemplifies the progress attained through the public and private sectors working together; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That the Mayor be and is hereby authorized to execute a joint contract with the Tennessee Department of Transportation and Hamilton County for a $580,000 ISTEA grant for the construction of the Battery Place Phase II Segment of the Tennessee Riverpark.
